Mission: Communities in Schools desires to surround students with community resources, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.


CIS Five Basics:

• A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult

• A safe place to learn and grow

• A healthy start and a healthy future

• A marketable skill to use upon graduation

• A chance to give back to peers and community


What CIS looks like on Palo Duro High Campus:

- One-on-one mentoring

- Monitoring grades and attendance

- Teaching life-skills

- Behavioral mentoring

- Leadership Group (emphasis on Community Service!**)

- Pre-employment skills (job search, mock interviews)

- College Prep (college applications, financial aid)

- Tutoring

- Basic Needs (clothes, food, shelter, glasses)

- Parent conferences (SST Meetings, PRS Meetings)

- Much Much More!
