Morgause cant be on the hight throne because she would have to marry a men who is already high king, and judging that all of the people are scared of her then her only choice is to put one of her son's up for high throne.
Adonis A. (Guest) said On 09/03/2011 at 12:30 AM
Why does Morgause's powers drain with every child she has?
Andrew A (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 11:36 PM
Why does Merlinnus trust Gawen from the beginning of the story without any suspicion?
Cesar R. (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 11:21 PM
To answer your question Kie what most likely happened to the previous king is he past away. Seeing how Merlin says this quote,"Some have indicated they want proof that Artur is fit to sit on the throne of Uther Pendragon."pg.223
Cesar R. (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 11:07 PM
So Morgause learned magic from Merlin, wouldn't that make her a white mage instead of dark one? " He should have kicked her out of his room before she had had a chance to learn anything from him."(51)
Samanta M. (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 10:11 PM
A'Jhan H., Morgause doesn't give up to Arthur, because she's determined to have her son's take over the kingdom. Of course she wants to be someway involved in the ruling & that's why she wants this so bad. She's a very selfish person and mother. And she believes that Arthur stole "her father's crown and her sons' inheritance. Who had taken away her own right to be Britain's mother queen." (p.16Z) "My mother had no male children by Uther, so the trone should by marriage right have come to me and thus you (Gawaine)." (p.13)
Ali R. (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 7:29 PM
I wonder if she did love her sons or was it just so they could rule as kings.
Ali R. (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 7:28 PM
Y was Author mean't to be King and not the other character's.
Kie-'Ona B. (Guest) said On 09/02/2011 at 5:26 PM
I agree with A'Jahn H. I was pondering on the same question. I never really got an answer so my quess is that she just dosent like him as king, and prefers someone diffrent.Just a guess though.
Jada C. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 11:34 PM
What makes Arthur fall in love with Gwen so easily? Was it like a love at first kind of thing? Because the whole time he thought she was really a male.
Jada C. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 11:32 PM
Guest, I honestly think it is because she knows a man has a better chance of getting the throne than a woman. From the way I see it she should be the one trying to have the High Throne because her sons dont really care about it as much as she does. "He knew that even if they were given the throne in his place, none of his brothers would have a chance to rule anyway. Morgause would keep the power close to her own breast." (pg.3)
Jose C. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 11:14 PM
Cristina Gawain did not get the throne because Arthur was the next of kin to king Arthur."royal blood runs through his veins no one else knows, of course, but I do."(Merlin)(pg.74)
Jose C. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 10:46 PM
Why dose Kay try to pull the sword form the stone?"Kay stopped, put a hand on the swords hilt, and drawing in a deep breath leaned back.Ha!He cried out and yanked at he sword."(pg.292)
Kie-'Ona B. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 10:34 PM
My question is what exactly happend to the first king?
A'Jahn H. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 9:07 PM
I don't think he would like to be called a spy, he just wants to keep on doing what he is doing with no title. "I am a prince. you cannotexpect me to be a spy."
A'Jahn H. (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 8:59 PM
Why is Morgause so determined to get rid of King Aurther? I think she should just give up, she will not succeed.
Sammy lopez (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 6:42 PM
Kyantasia Arthur does have royal blood but nobody knows but merlinnus
Sammy lopez (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 6:38 PM
How could Lancelot betray Arthur the way he did??
Ayekayi L (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 5:30 PM
Valeria, I think people are afraid of Merlinnus because he's a very old strong wizard. "..By his very presence, he changed what was ordinary, into something else" Pg.49.
Ayekayi L (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 5:28 PM
Did the queen have children, just so they could claim the high throne? Did she even have love for her sons? "..Yet she did not entirely wish them gone. Not entirely. They still had thier uses." Pg.248.
David C (Guest) said On 09/01/2011 at 12:10 AM
I think Merlinnus doesnt tell anyone because no one will believe him."I've no other witness to his heritage, and what nobles will believe it, anyway?"
David C (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 11:47 PM
How does Merlinnus speak to the tree and vice versa?
Kevin n (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 10:26 PM
I think gawen was so interested in the round table because he was one of the messengers for the knights."gawen was let in with the twelve other boys who were to be personal messengers for knights.'

Samanta M. (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 9:12 PM
Does Morgasue know about the magic involved in the sword? I would assume she does since she has powers she would have knowledge of this. "Of course she knows. We were careful to tell everyone in the kingdom."(p.263)
Karina P. (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 8:03 PM
I agree with Amy's question. Couldn't she just do it herself? Or maybe she just didn't want to get blamed for it.
Karina P. (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 7:55 PM
I wonder why Morgause desperately wants her son to take King Arthur's place as a king. "Some day soon--and soon--he will be plucked from the throne. That is the day I prepare for. The day I prepare you for." P.11
Juan R (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 5:18 PM
Troy J, the guards don't try to protect Arthur when he's being attacked by the man with the dagger because the guards lance was for show so they couldn't protect Arthur.
Juan R (Guest) said On 08/31/2011 at 4:59 PM
Why would Kay be mad at Arthur if Gawaine saved Arthur's life. "I Warned you..." "Kay began as he and Arthur rode." "You warned me about Gawaine," "And it was he who saved my life." "It would of not have needed saving," Kay went on doggedly," "If you would had stayed at home." (p.169)
Troy J. (Guest) said On 08/29/2011 at 12:05 AM
Daniel, Gawen might be so curious of the Round Table because it is a sight to see and it is only for the King and the Companions . " GAwen began making a dozen plans, plans of how to get in to see the table, to touch it, to sit in one of the Companions' chairs."
Troy J. (Guest) said On 08/28/2011 at 11:37 PM
Why don't the guards have real swords when protecting the king's door entrance? "[...] and the guard's lance was for show only, not battle,..."
Troy J. (Guest) said On 08/28/2011 at 11:18 PM
Why don't the guards even notice or try to help Arthur when he is being attacked by the man with the dagger? pg. 184-185
Antoni N. (Guest) said On 08/22/2011 at 8:37 PM
Well Debbie, I'm unsure about an answer to your question, but Morgause's "incantation" may have been a bluff. The curse never had any effect against Gawen throughout the rest of the story (or at least it wasn't explained in the story.)
Antoni N. (Guest) said On 08/22/2011 at 8:27 PM
What is the comparison between Gawaine's origins and traditions and Arthur's origins and traditions, specifically about defeating a foe? "I am more Roman than Celt, Gwalchmei. We do not take heads here." (Pg. 167)
Pedro B. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 9:42 PM
Kyontasia, arthur actually does have royal blood in him. "Royal blood runs in his veins. No one else knows, of course, but I do."-merlinnus (p.74)
David M. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 9:32 PM
Does Lancelot know Gawne's secret, because he always seems to be looking at him and they have a staredown in the round table room. "As though he recognizes me, Knows me for who i am. But how can that be?" Or do they just feel comfortable being in each others presence. "But it was as if they lent one another strength, standing there together." What is the mystery between these two?
Pedro B. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 9:31 PM
Why if merlinnus knows that arthur does have royal blood running through him why dosent he tell every body else. "Royal blood runs in his veins. No one else knows, of course, but I do." (p.74)
Daniel W. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 4:20 PM
I wonder why Gawen is so intent on finding out about the Round Table, becase it is after all just a table.
Robert S. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 2:24 PM
They put Arthur as king because they said he is a strong man with a sense of fairness and compassion.
Robert S. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 2:18 PM
I wonder if Merlinnus and the others want Arthur to be king. "Some have indicated they want proof that Arthur is fit to sit on the Throne of Uther Pendragon." (page 223)
Cristina R. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 1:21 AM
I'm unsure why Morgause wants Gawaine to be king so badly. It's probably because she wants to have some sort of power herself and also wants it to be returned to her family.
Cristina R. (Guest) said On 08/21/2011 at 1:13 AM
Why does King Arthur have the throne? If Gawaine's dad was king shouldn't it had been his automatically.
José E. (Guest) said On 08/19/2011 at 4:24 PM
Jaiveon I think Agravaine misstreats Hwyll because he is younger and Hwyll doesn't talk back so maybe he feels a sense of power in being able to control or influencing him. He has tried to do the same Gawaine but soon learned Gawaine just won't tolerate it. "Don't try to attack me, brother.I am taller and bigger"
José E. (Guest) said On 08/19/2011 at 4:01 PM
I wondered if Agravaine killed the thief because maybe he though the king might of been in some sort of danger? Or did he see it as an oportinuty to bee seen "tough" or "powerful" by everyone?…"Agravaine, his face a fury, swung his foot up and crunched down on the old thief's face, sending the pen straight through, into his brain".
Monica S. (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 9:21 PM
I am unsure about Mitiz's question, how did King Arthur get the throne? I believe he got the throne because Arthur was a knight or he worked under his king and the king knew his wife was evil, so he passed it down to his trusty knight, knowing what his wife would do if he passed it down to her.
Monica S. (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 7:34 PM
What was Morgasue's curse suppose to do to Gawen?? because good things happen to him after the curse, nothing bad happen like her curse said "I curse thee that ye be shaken, flower from stem, stem form root. That yer line be blighted, yer cause be slighted, yer love unrequited, and yer person indicted."(p.305)
194239 said On 08/18/2011 at 5:58 PM
Amy, I also think she (Morgause) wants Gawaine to be High King because it would mean she would be Britian's Mother Queen. "The man who had stolen her father's crown and her sons' inheritance. Who had taken away her own right to be Britain's mother queen."(p16)
194239 said On 08/18/2011 at 5:48 PM
Did Morgasue know about the list that Kay and the other men had made? "...then arose six naked women, high bosomed, small headed, with rounded hips, long hair, slim fingers, and short of utterance. May Queens all."
Xavier T. (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 3:54 PM
arthur became king because he was given the throne by the past king and i think its because the past king see the greatness he would achive.
Xavier T. (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 3:48 PM
What is gawen hiding throught the story? Does the cloth arry secerts, has it spoken ti her of who i really am?"(pg. 329)
Cindy R. (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 2:28 PM
To: Mikayla S. I too, wonder who tried to kill Arthur, Maybe it was a random person who was hired to kill Arthur.
Cindy R. (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 2:24 PM
I wonder why they put Arthur as the King of Britain when he didn't carry the bloodline like Gawaine and his brothers."Morgause has, you know," Arthur said, "a straighter, truer line. i am nobody--fatherless, motherless, kinless--but for your father, who named me his foster child. I was put on the throne but did not inherit it." pg 43
Daniel W (Guest) said On 08/18/2011 at 12:38 PM
I think Morgasue wants Gawaine to be king so that she can have control of the kingdom through manipulation and binding "All of Lots's sons were susceptible to spells od binding, as has been their father."
Mitzi C. (Guest) said On 08/17/2011 at 9:31 PM
I'm also unsure about the question that Marissa asked about Gawaine's dad,how he had died. Maybe he had died in battle or of naural causes. Or finding out how cruel Morgasue was she could of killed him for some reason.
Mitzi C. (Guest) said On 08/17/2011 at 9:25 PM
I wonder how the throne was given to King Arthur after Gawine's dad had died? We're they family in some way or was it given to him in a battle of some sort? Or just handed to him for some reason?
Jimaine W (Guest) said On 08/17/2011 at 12:16 PM
Leslie I also think Morgasue wants Gawaine to be king so can too rule Britain. "So thats it! She would try to keep him here as ruler, though of course he knew which one of them would actually rule". p.8 Gawaine
Jimaine Westmoreland (Guest) said On 08/17/2011 at 11:51 AM
I wonder why Arthur still trust Gawaine though he knows of Morgasue and Gawaine didnt tell him. "I said I was not certain. And I am no fool. Gawaine does not know that I know about his mother's plan. I will be on alert." Page 158
Debbie V. (Guest) said On 08/15/2011 at 9:04 PM
Well Valeria, Merlinnus is a power magician back in the medieval ages. He was also known as Arthur's right hand man for wizardry and the helper to attain his throne. He's really old, yet wise in black magic compared to Morgause. The two most feared people in the story would be Merlinnus and Morgause. They both know magical spells to enchant, cure, and curse people into their bidding. For example, Merlinnus casted the spell on the sword so even the strongest couldn't move the sword in the stone.
Jaciel C. (Guest) said On 08/15/2011 at 3:29 PM
The masked me were not sent "They were poachers, thieves. They were after the deer,my horse,my sword,my ring."-(Arthur)(p.170)
Jaciel Campos (Guest) said On 08/15/2011 at 3:20 PM
Why would Morgause keep Gawaine and Mariel from getting married?"Iwould guess his mother(Morgause) forbade the matchand-to be certain of it- sickened the girl(mariel) with a spell."(p.341)
Valeria G. (Guest) said On 08/14/2011 at 4:36 PM
I wonder why everybody is so afraid of Merlinnus? "Fear rode the mage's shoulder and turned its baleful eye on all."
Valeria G (Guest) said On 08/14/2011 at 4:08 PM
I think Morgause will do anything to try and get rid of Arthur in order for Gawaine to become King. "Some day and soon he will be plucked from the throne. That is the day i prepare for.The day I prepare you for." -Morgause(p.11)
Debbie V. (Guest) said On 08/11/2011 at 7:37 PM
What was the effect of the curse spell when Morgause casted it upon Gawen? " I curse thee that ye be shaken flower from stem, stem from root. That yer line be blighted yer cause be slighted, yer love unrequited, and yer person indicted."(pg.304-305)
Esmeralda G. (Guest) said On 08/11/2011 at 4:15 PM
Macy, i think they let her inside the Kingdom so easily so they could figure out more easily what she was planning to do once she was there. "I am not here for my boys, my lord, for they have but recently left my side. I have come to see you, for it has been years since we have had converse."(p.259)
Esmeralda G. (Guest) said On 08/11/2011 at 4:08 PM
Why did Merlinnus have the sword dream? Did he want to make sure that Arthur stayed king? "I had a dream, my liege, of a sword on a stone" Merlinnus said.(p. 55)
Macy M. (Guest) said On 08/10/2011 at 11:26 PM
Agravaine mistreats people because he wants everybody to think that he is more powerful then they . " I need to speak for your mother. And she would tell you this: Agravaine only follows one rule... Power ." pg.129 . It might also be because his mom raised him that way and maybe also because Agravaine is the second son and ," [..] feels the weight of it everyday". pg. 129
Macy M. (Guest) said On 08/10/2011 at 10:16 PM
Whenever Morgause arrives at Cadbury, Merlinnus and Gawen scurry to the throne room to find her already there with her women . Why is the North Queen (Morgause) let in the kingdom so easily ? She is after all, wanting King Arthur dead . (pg 258-259)
Amy B. (Guest) said On 08/10/2011 at 3:43 PM
kelsey, I think Morgause wants Gawaine to be the king because its the only way for her to gain back her power. Like you said in another comment, Morgause manipulates people, maybe she is using her son to get power.
Amy B. (Guest) said On 08/10/2011 at 3:29 PM
If Morgause wanted Arthur dead, why didnt she do it herself in the begining? Was she scared of losing the battle if she went face to face with Arthur and his castle? "The North Witch was not Arthurs only enemy-- but she is the strongest. If she was really sending an assassin, she must believe herself ready to tackle even his own magicks."(pg.49) - Merlinnus

I think Morgause wants one of her sons to rule because she wants the power to return to her family, or more likely, herself. If she were to set herself upon the throne, it would seem too conspired.
Kelsey N (Guest) said On 08/05/2011 at 2:14 PM
I agree with Shallah because Morgause only wants her sons to be king so that she will have the power through her sons.
Mercedes N (Guest) said On 08/05/2011 at 1:59 PM
I agree with Claudia and Dakota because it seems to me that Morgasue wants it her way or no way.

Why does Morgause want Gawaine to be King so badly? "Arthur is nothing but a pretty usurper, sombeday-and soon -he will be plucked from the throne. That is the day i prepare for. The day I prepare you for." pg. 11
Kyontasia W. (Guest) said On 08/04/2011 at 4:49 PM
Quentin, I think that Morgause was giving thought to killing the king since these are the ways she likes to kill, according to King Arthur. "The North Queen does not send a group of masked men to find me out-of-doors. She favors nights and poison, or a viper in the bed." (p.170)
Kyontasia W. (Guest) said On 08/04/2011 at 4:46 PM
Why was Arthur chosen to be king over Kay, even though Arthur wasn't a true, blood heir of the throne? "Morgause has, you know," Arthur said,"a straighter, truer line. I am nobody- fatherless, motherless, kinless- but for your father, who named me his foster child. I was put on the throne but did not inherit it." (p.43)
Robert N. (Guest) said On 07/27/2011 at 5:41 PM
How did Arthur become king of Britain? Morgause mentioned how Gawaine should be king through bloodlines. “My mother married Uther Pendragon for the High King’s throne, so that her children should sit on it after he was gone.” (Page 12)
Mercedes N (Guest) said On 07/26/2011 at 6:15 PM
Why does Kay desire trust from the king? "To hesitate was to lose the King's trust, and the King's trust was the thing Kay desired most of all." (p.40)

shallah G (Guest) said On 07/19/2011 at 11:06 PM
I think the reason morgasue is so intent on getting one of her sons on the high throne, and not herself is because she lives through her sons.
Shallah G (Guest) said On 07/19/2011 at 10:32 PM
Why is Gawaine so oblivious to his mother's true plan when she asks him to be a spy? "Not a spy she repeated, but still your mother's man. Of course you tell your mother all that happens at court. Its expected. As you have done for these past three years." (p.10)
Claudia Jisela Barrera (Guest) said On 07/11/2011 at 11:19 AM
I wonder what Morgause will do next, will she give up with the satisfaction of all that happened and getting somewhat what she hoped for, or will she still go all out to get rid of Arthur? "...Morgause paced. He (Merlinnus) could see her face clearly. She looked discomfited, angry, soured - and suddenly old." Page 349
